Death Stranding 2: On The Beach
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is set approximately a year after the events of the first game, taking the story to Australia. Players once again assume the role of Sam Porter Bridges, trying to connect isolated individuals in a fractured world through the chiral network. The game maintains its delivery-based gameplay amidst environmental threats and expands its narrative to a wider geographical scope.
Sony has announced its collaboration with Kojima Productions for the PC version and entrusted the porting process to Nixxes Software, a Dutch studio acquired by Sony in 2021.
In terms of technical options, the PC version will offer a wide range of choices. The game will support 4K resolution and uncapped frame rates. Additionally, it will incorporate NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS-based upscaling and frame generation technologies to provide a smoother experience on various hardware configurations.
Sony Offers New Modes Simultaneously with PC Release
Sony will introduce ‘new modes and features’ for both PC and PlayStation 5 upon the PC release, although details are yet to be revealed. The additions are expected to include new challenges and special rewards, following a similar content approach to the previous Death Stranding Director’s Cut version.
The PC version will also expand screen support, catering to 21:9 ultra-wide monitors and 32:9 super ultra-wide displays to enhance panoramic views. Input options will remain flexible, allowing gameplay with keyboard and mouse or DualSense controller.
On the audio front, a focus on spatial sound experience stands out. PC players can utilize 3D audio support through Dolby Access, DTS Sound Unbound, and Windows Sonic for Headphones for clearer spatial awareness, particularly in navigation-heavy open areas.
The game is currently available for pre-order on Steam and Epic Games Store at $70, with the Digital Deluxe Edition offering extra in-game bonuses for an additional $10. The official release date is set for March 19, 2026, granting PC gamers access to the game on that date.
